Supplemental Index

What is the supplemental index. Google has a secondary index containing pages which are considered to have less relevance or importance to its given search term or terms.

These pages are known as the supplemental results and Google will only show these supplemental results in the serps (Search Engine Rank Positions) if there are no other relevant pages from the main index matching the appropriate search term(s).

Most people will not have heard of the supplemental index and if they have will not have a clue to find out whether any of their web pages are within the supplemental pages or know what and how to get out of them.

The usual problem of being within the supplemental results is due to -

  • bad quality link
  • too many reciprocal links
  • over linking within pages
  • too many long posts within blogs or forums
  • duplicate content
  • and much more

We can find out how many of your web pages are within the supplemental results and resolve any issues within that page to get you out of this index.

Should I worry if any of my pages are within the supplemental index, will this effect my SEO?

Yes this will dampen other results within your site and other people who are linking to you.
